This is a common doubt many Muslims have. A woman's testimony is not considered half of a man's testimony. The verse in question is the verse of Surah Baqarah that deals with debt and its repayment.
Majority of the scholars agree that in many areas of shariah the testimony of a woman is equal to that of a man. For birth, for heritage, in cases of death. Many places in the Quran Allah mentions two witnesses without mentioning the gender.
